The price of gas in Rowlett dropped under $2 this week.
The lowest price to fill up on Thursday in Rowlett was $1.89.
On Lakeway Parkway, Circle K, Murphy USA, Quik Trip and Valero all went to $1.89 on Thursday.
Just past the city limit going toward the Bush turnpike, gas was $1.89 at the 7-Eleven at Castle and Rowlett Road.
Three stations at Dalrock Road and 66 didn’t try to go lower than each other on Thursday with the price holding on three corners at $1.92.
Rowlett drivers going toward Dallas on Interstate 30 didn’t get any favors. Gas cost $1.97 at Bobtown Road.
On Tuesday, Rowlett drivers spotted gas at $1.89 on Rowlett Road and Miller at Shell and Diamond Shamrock, on Castle at the 7-Eleven, at Valero on Rowlett Road and also on Lakeview Parkway and at Murphy USA.
Texaco came in at $1.99 on Rowlett Road and Lakeview Parkway.
In Sachse, Exxon was selling a gallon of gas for $1.86 on State Highway 78 and Shepherd’s Glen on Thursday.
Kroger had gas for $1.88 at 78 and Murphy Road and Phillips 66 was selling it for $1.89 at 78 and Sachse Road on Thursday.
Gas cost $1.99 at the Chevron at 78 and Hooper Street on Thursday.
Gas was $2.16 at the Exxon on South Goliad near Washington Street in Rockwall on Wednesday.
In Mesquite, gas was $1.89 on North Galloway at Fina and at Diamond Shamrock on Military Parkway.
A gallon was $1.92 a gallon at Raceway on Gross Road near LBJ Freeway.
This store didn’t hike prices inside to make up for lower gas prices?
A bottle of water was selling for $1.09 and a 20-ounce Coke went for $1.19. Other stores had water averaging $1.39 and sodas as much as $1.49.
Down the street on Gross Road, gas was $1.94 at Diamond Shamrock. Across the freeway, State had the same price just west of LBJ on Gross Road.
Gas was more expensive on Military Parkway, where Chevron was selling it for $1.97. At Gus Thomasson and Oates a gallon cost $1.99 at Chevron and Texaco.
Drivers paid a little more ($2.02) to fill up at Hwy. 80 at Belt Line Road.
On Northwest Highway and 635 going from Garland into Dallas, Racetrack sold gas for $1.89.
In Plano, Chevron was selling it for $1.95 against Racetrack’s $1.93. Across town in West Plano and in Richardson, drivers were being sold gas at $2.19 by Chevron.
Near Highland Park, gas was $2.09 at Shell on Knox Street.
In McKinney, gas went down to $1.78 a gallon Tuesday.
One Web site also watches the prices daily. According to dallasgasprices.com, the price of a gallon of gas averaged $1.95 on Wednesday across the Dallas area. That’s one cent lower than on Tuesday. In October, gas cost $2.09 a gallon on average. In October, gas was going on average for $3.06. In November 2007, gas cost $3.10 per gallon.
