Water rates increase for Lakewood Village residents

Lakewood Village town council approved the budget for 2011.


The general fund has nearly $380,000 available. Utility revenues total $419,655.

The council also approved a water/waste water ordinance that increased water rates.

Water usage up to 3,000 a month will now cost $25. From 3001 to 9,000 the cost is $25.00 plus $3.75 per thousand gallons over 3,000 per household. For 9,001 to 19,000 gallons households will pay $47.50 plus $3.00 per thousand gallons over 9,000. From 19,000 to 50,000 gallons the cost is $77.50 plus $2.00 per thousand gallons over 19,000. Over 50,000, the cost is $139.50 plus $10.00 per thousand gallons over 50,000.

The council also approved Pingleton, Howard & Company based in Frisco to perform an audit of town finances.
