Law enforcement officers have made an arrest in the assault and theft that occurred in the 1000 block of Sandy Trail in Allen yesterday morning.
Officers from the U.S. Marshal Service, Allen Police Department Narcotics Unit, McKinney Police Department and Texas Department of Public Safety arrested 28-year-old Rodricus Thushun Rodgers Wednesday night in the 9000 block of Vantage Point Drive in Dallas in connection with the crime.
Police found in Rodgers' possession a .45 caliber handgun, bloody clothing and duct tape and zip ties believed to have been used during the altercation to tie up the victim's wife and daughter.
Approximately 40 pounds of marijuana were also recovered. Police believe the incident to be drug related, said Sgt. Jon Felty of APD.
A search for three suspects started yesterday morning after the victim, James Shaw of Allen, was struck in the head with a pistol in front of his home. The three men left the scene in a vehicle belonging to a relative of Shaw, which was found by police about three blocks away from the scene. Shaw was in stable condition as of Thursday afternoon.
