Fort Wildflower volunteers to have meals provided
From staff reports
Since the project began, Fort Wildflower Community-Built Playground Committee members have been seeking the help of local businesses and organizations to donate food for the hundreds of Fort Wildflower volunteers during the build week, Sept. 11-15.
The following entities have agreed to donate food: Agave Azul restaurant, Campbell Soup, Chick-fil-A, Cotton Patch Café, FairLease, Market Street, McAllister’s Deli, Mini Mart, Nothing Bundt Cakes, Pepsico Co., Schlotsky’s, Sprouts Farmers Market, Starbucks, the Summit Club, Swirl Bakery, and Texas Roadhouse.
It is not too late to donate meals or drinks to Fort Wildflower volunteers, who will be working to help make this playground a reality for children of all abilities. Contact Mary Kay Walker at amkwalker@verizon.net or call 972-355-4037 for donation information.
In addition to volunteers, Fort Wildflower cannot be constructed without the necessary equipment. The project is in need of tools such as 3/8–inch hand drills, circular saws, jigsaws, wheelbarrows, post hole diggers and more.
Organizers are committed to taking great care of loaned tools by labeling them and returning them to their proper owners in the same, or better, working condition. Email r.pw@verizon.net for information.
