NEW ROCHELLE, NY - The College of New Rochelle senior outside hitter/middle hitter Elizabeth Johnston has been selected as the Association of Division III Independents (AD3I) Volleyball Player of the Week

Johnston had a strong week for CNR, matching the team-high in kills and hitting at a white-hot .625 clip while playing just two sets in the Blue Angels' road victory over Purchase College on Thursday, September 13. She upped the ante in CNR's match with The King's College on Saturday, September 15, nearly recording a triple-double with nine kills, 10 digs, and a match-high eight service aces, including five consecutive aces during a 12-4 run that forced a deciding fifth set. On the week, the Plano, TX native averaged 2.00 kills, 1.7 digs and 0.9 aces per set.

This marks the second consecutive week a College of New Rochelle Volleyball player has received this honor, as sophomore Meghan King (New City, NY/Clarkstown North HS) earned the recognition last week.

The Blue Angels return to the court this weekend, traveling to Chestnut Hill, Mass. to participate in a tri-match with University of Maine-Presque Isle and the host Pine Manor College.
