Celebrate Metrocrest coming Nov. 9
By Jared Watson, jwatson@starlocalnews.com
Residents looking to get a jump on holiday shopping can do so for a good cause at Celebrate Metrocrest on Friday.
Celebrate Metrocrest will take place from 6-9 p.m. at the Addison Conference & Theatre Centre at 15650 Addison Road in Addison. Tickets are $30 per person and are available by calling 469-587-0420 or by e-mailing info@metrocrestchamber.com.
Celebrate Metrocrest is a holiday-themed networking event featuring both a silent auction and a live auction. A portion of the proceeds from the items sold will benefit Metrocrest-area charities, including Metrocrest Social Services, MyPossibilities and Mosaic.
Celebrate Metrocrest will feature 300 silent auction items, including gift baskets with college themes, tools, Dallas Mavericks tickets, jewelry, wine baskets and golf-themed items. Items for the live auction include a trip to San Antonio (which includes air fare and a weekend stay at the Crowne Plaza Riverwalk), a pheasant hunting trip in Kansas and a fully-stocked wine fridge.
Food will be provided by six area restaurants, all of which is included in the $30 entry ticket. In addition, attendees will have the opportunity to network with business leaders in the Addison, Carrollton and Farmers Branch community. A string ensemble and choral group from Brookhaven College will provide entertainment.
Sponsors of the event include, Mutual of Omaha Bank, Kathy M. Costner, Purdy-McGuire, PlainsCapital Bank, Fuzzy's Taco Shop, Blackfinn Restaurant & Saloon, The Egg & I, Outback Steakhouse and Basden & Ivie Attorneys & Counselors.
The mission of the Metrocrest Chamber of Commerce is to stimulate economic growth in Addison, Carrollton, Farmers Branch and surrounding areas by providing programs, resources, education and support that benefit business, government and citizens.
"As a member of the Metrocrest Chamber for 30 years, I know that it serves as the foundation of a phenomenal networking group," said Dianne Fletcher, co-chair of Celebrate Metrocrest and CEO of Purdy-McGuire. "To have an evening like this to mix and mingle while also helping raise money for some great local non-profits is wonderful. From networking to holiday shopping, it's a great way to accomplish lots on your list. There are definitely some people on my personal Christmas list who will benefit from this event."
