'Pianist to the Presidents': David Osborne in McKinney Nov. 3

The David Osborne Trio hits the stage in McKinney Nov. 3 in the current concert series presented by the McKinney Community Concert season, now performing at Christ Fellowship Church in McKinney.
Considered a virtuoso at age 5, David was born in Miami (pronounced by locals as "Miamah"), a relatively small town (about 13,000), but probably better known as Exit 313 on the Will Rogers Turnpike traversing northeast Oklahoma from Missouri. His fascination with the keyboards started at the First Baptist Church in his hometown, but his parents and local piano teachers recognized his talent early on and encouraged the young musical genius who has become "Pianist to the Presidents," including Jimmy Carter, George Bush, Ronald Reagan and Bill Clinton.
The fact that he holds numerous degrees in musicality (including an M.A. from Pittsburg University) belies his energy, sense of humor and entertaining presence on the stage as well as his accomplishments with the Steinway Artists designation and a stellar career in Las Vegas and Branson, Mo., as well as scintillating performances worldwide. Former U.S. Senator Max Cleland said, "I have never seen anyone play piano with as much grace, poise and passion as you." Former President Jimmy Carter said, "David means the most to me of all the performers I have known over the years."
While Osborne's awards and accolades are impressive, his audience adoration is monumental in entertainment venues where comparisons are exceptional. Tomm Schultz, president of McKinney Community Concerts, said, "We are extremely honored to have David appear here with what has become known as 'Keys to the Heart,' in a performance that combines Broadway favorites, romantic love songs and classical renditions."
During every concert presentation continuing through March 2, 2013, Christ Fellowship will open its High Expectations coffee shop before each event, and concert members will be welcomed by the McKinney Concerts directors and staff. The entire season includes "The Four Freshman - a Fresh New Christmas," on Dec. 1, "The Liverpool Legends" on Jan. 12, "Six," on Feb. 2, and "The Doo Wah Riders" on March 2.
Concert attendance is by subscription only. Individual memberships are available at $95 each; students are admitted for $35 each; families, including moms, dads and school age children are $225. There are no individual concert tickets available. Season memberships are available for purchase at P.O. Box 1903, McKinney, TX 75070, or by calling 972-542-2960.
