McKinney's National Racquetball Champion Goes for World tittle

Los Angeles, CA - Cockrill Junior High School and McKinney's own Brian Barberis the reigning Junior and National Racquetball Champion has advanced to the finals of the International Racquetball Federation's Junior World Championship.

Brian Barberis, a member of Life Time Fitness in Allen-McKinney, has earned the distinction of being recognized as one of the two best racquetball players in the world by advancing to the gold medal match at the IRF World Championships. Brian has so far beaten Colombia by scores of 15-7 and 15-22, then in the quarter finals he defeated Costa Rica 15-4 15-2 and in a very exciting match against bolivia he showed his mental toughness by coming back and winning a very tough match agains a formidable fow from Bolivia after losing the first game and being down 4-0 in the second game.

Brian won the second game 15-10 and then won the tie breaker 11-8 persevering with his very powerful drive serve.

The finals match will be played on Saturday November 17th at 9:00 AM Pacific time and will be carried live on www.internationalracquetball.com.

Brian is intent in bringing McKinney and the state of Texas their first World Champion in the sport of racquetball in quite some time.
