The Lewisville Area Chamber of Commerce will celebrate its golden anniversary with its original members and a peak into the future of the organization.
"This chamber began as a result of the hard work, passion and drive of the Lewisville business community," said Erin Carney, events and communications director. "We could not have completed this milestone without our members. We've seen change within the chamber, but the drive and passion and support have stayed the same."
The 50th anniversary celebration will be held from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Nov. 9 at the Hilton Garden Inn, 785 State Highway 121. For advance registration visit www.lewisvillechamber.org or call 972-436-9571. Tickets are $35.
"We have learned so much about our community through planning this event," Carney said. "The event is open to everyone who would like to attend. During the luncheon, we'll look back at the history of the chamber and look forward to the future."
The chamber celebration will include the luncheon, a keynote presentation, proclamations by local elected officials and a video presentation featuring past board chairmen.
"This is a fantastic opportunity to celebrate the monumental achievements local business has made over the past 50 years in Lewisville. This accomplishment is not one we could have achieved without the support of our dedicated members. This anniversary is a sentiment to their drive in their professions as well as their involvement in the chamber," said Matt McCormick, chamber president. "Through the preparation process for our anniversary, we have taken a historical journey through our evolution, and I can confidently say that we as a business community have grown and advanced since 1962. We have used the past 50 years to build a strong base for success, and I expect the next 50 years will be nothing less than phenomenal."
Chuck Ewart, of the Ewart Group, will present the keynote address. Ewart was part of the team that developed the strategic plan the chamber board of directors will implement this upcoming year. Ewart will highlight the characteristics and achievements of the Lewisville chamber and provide a look into what the future holds for the organization.
"As a chamber member I welcome the occasion to celebrate the past, live in the present and welcome the future as an opportunity to grow my business both personally, as well as professional within the Chamber," said Jeff Potter, chairman of the chamber board of directors. "I feel positively about where we sit today as a business-driven organization, and I am excited to see what the next 50 years has in store for us."
Carney said the event will be a great opportunity for people to thank and appreciate those who made the chamber what it is today.
"We're excited about where the future will take us, and we're thankful for those who got us here," Carney said.
