LCA senior running back Ovie Urevbu
The Eagles found themselves in a tightly-contested playoff matchup against Fort Worth Lake Country Christian last week.
Senior running back Ovie Urevbu made sure Legacy Christian Academy ended the game with a 26-19 victory, running for 280 yards and two touchdowns on 31 carries.
“[Urevbu] did a great job,” said Andrew Embry, LCA head coach. “He just ran the ball very well and allowed us to control the clock and control the game.”
Urevbu broke loose for touchdowns runs from 56 and 36 yards away to contribute to half of the Eagles’ points. The 280 yards also gave the senior running back more than 2,000 rushing yards this season. The workhorse has tallied 2,092 yards on the ground with 28 rushing touchdowns, while also catching 14 passes for 225 yards and another score.
Urevbu and the Eagles are back in action tonight with a 7:30 p.m. contest against district foe Colleyville Covenant Christian from Bedford’s Pennington Field.
