Students at Collin College introduce God the Mother

You have heard of God the Father, but have you heard of God the Mother? If so, you probably heard it from a group of students from Collin College and the World Mission Society Church of God who hosted a seminar this week at the Spring Creek Campus.
The title of the seminar was "Feminism and God the Mother." Students from Collin College and members of the Church of God presented the idea that God has a female image, not only a male image.
"For a long time people viewed God as a male because this was a male centered society, however, recently the ideas toward the inequality of men and women have changed, preparing the way for people to recognize the female image in the Creator Spirit," said Victoria Lyons, a first year student at Collin College. "God the Mother exists and is testified in many Scriptures in the Bible," she added.
The seminar will take place once more this semester on December 2 from 3:15-5 p.m. at the Spring Creek Campus. Victoria Lyons concluded the seminar by saying, "All life is given by mothers. If we are God's children shouldn't we also have God the Mother?" To many people who know God as "Father" it would be interesting to know the answer, who is God the Mother?

" It is very amazing how all living creatures have two qualities. It is too obvious which tells us why we have physical Father and Mother. God is certainly our true parents!! We cannot deny that God mother exists!! We must believe in it if we are true children!! "

" What an utter blasphemy of God these students have chosen. This is is incredibly offensive to all Christians, and to God HIMSELF.
We do stuff like this and then wonder why we have record crime, are falling of a fiscal cliff, and our schools are in a downward spiral.

" I'm surprized at the existence of a female image of God in the Bible. It may be natural that there is God the Mother since we have God the Father. I want to find out more about God the Mother through the Bible. "

" I think the world could need a "God the Mother". Today religions only believe God is male and they shut out women completely, which is why I think there is record crime, fiscal problems, and so on. When you look at a family it is the mother who is the peacemaker. If these students are trying to introduce something nice to help the world, why not let them? "

" I saw the sign at Collin last week, I think the article meant to say "December 5th" is the next seminar, at least thats what the sign says. I was curious to see but I didn't have time last week. I think it would be cool to know where in the Bible it says God is also female. "
