The Lewisville Chamber of Commerce recently named Rockbrook Elementary fifth-grade student Destiny Paxton student of month. Paxton was selected for being a dedicated student and classmate.
"Destiny is a very well-rounded student," said Elisa Wittrock, Rockbrook principal. "She excels in all subjects; she's a classroom leader, great friend to her classmates and wonderful big sister."
Paxton's sister, Alesha, is a first-grader at Rockbrook and attended a luncheon in her honor Nov. 16, which was also attended by Wittrock, family members Season Daniels and Cheryl LaClaire as well as Chamber of Commerce and Northstar Bank representatives.
During the luncheon, Paxton received a certificate of achievement and a Barnes and Noble gift card. The Lewisville Chamber of Commerce's Student of the Month program is sponsored by Northstar Bank.
Paxton is the daughter of Ebony Kindle and Michael Paxton.
"I want to be an actress one day," Paxton said.
Teacher Jaymie Hunt bragged about Paxton's dedication to success and also said, "She's a talented singer."
