Library to host events

From staff reports

The Flower Mound Public Library will host a three session landscape design series presented by the Denton County Master Gardener Association. Each session will last from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the Library, 3030 Broadmoor, on Jan. 23, 30, and Feb. 6.

In this series, participants will learn how to design and implement landscaping for their own home.

Registration for the event is required, and is $10, which covers the workbook and materials.

The library will also host “Finding Our Place Just Right,” a Gardening for the Soul program, at 2 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 8 at the library.

Presenter Kathleen O’Beirne, author of the new book "Gardening: A Window on Our Soul," will present information to help people make informed choices about their “place just right.”

With the help of a quick personality sorter, people can learn whether they are an Agave, a Hosta, a Black-Eyed Susan, or a Red-Hot Poker.

Their identification will determine the characteristics of the setting in which they will be happy and productive. They will be given your own identification guide and planting instructions (i.e., a description of your ideal environment), plus ample whimsy to fertilize your plot.

This is a free event.

For information or to register for either event, call 972-874-6165.
