Seven homes were burglarized Friday night in the Tour 18 subdivision in west Flower Mound.

According to Flower Mound police, the incidents took place between 9-10 p.m. Assistant Police Chief Wendell Mitchell said no one was home at the time of the burglaries, but he said State Senator Jane Nelson's home was among those hit.

"It looks like they were targeting jewelry," Mitchell said. "The items ranged from rings to necklaces to watches. Gold and silver are really valuable right now."

There were two burglaries in the 5600 block of Southern Hills Drive and one in the 5800 block. There were two burglaries on Lighthouse Drive (the 5500 block and the 8600 block), one in the 5700 block of Master Court and one in the 5600 block of Pine Valley Drive.

Mitchell said it appears the burglars gained entry through the rear door at some homes and broke a window to get in at other homes.

"It's a gated community, so we're still investigating how they got into the neighborhood," Mitchell said.

Mitchell said there was a similar string of burglaries in Westlake in which the suspects hit a gated community, but he said at this point it's unclear if the incidents are related.

Mitchell said there is no suspect information but urged anyone with information to contact the police department at 972-539-0525 or the anonymous crime tip line at 972-874-3307.
