Dallas Christian boys, girls win basketball district openers

The opening day of the TAPPS 2-4A district season could not have gone any better for the Dallas Christian boys and girls basketball teams, as each posted victories over Tyler All Saints

The Charger boys continued their impressive start to the year, improving to 10-1 with a 65-50 win.

The Chargers scored 23 points in the first quarter and then pushed their advantage to 40-26 at halftime. All Saints stayed even in the second half but could not make a serious run.

Justis Nelson scored 26 points, while Hayden Baker and Will Morgan added 16 and 10 points, respectively, to lead Dallas Christian.

The Charger girls improved to 13-10 overall with a 55-18 victory over All Saints.

Dallas Christian put forth a dominant defensive effort from the start. They led 26-11 at halftime and then went on a 20-2 run in the third quarter to put the game away.

Hunter Cauley outscored All Saints by herself with 21 points, while Ashlan Miles also had a big game with 17 points.
