Love is in the air at The Legacy at Willow Bend!

Helga and Gerardo Weinstein
By Page Stafford
Members of The Legacy at Willow Bend celebrated Valentine’s Day in full force with a festive happy hour, including performances by pianist Dave Tanner, who played everyone’s favorite love songs. Members and staff took a spin on the dance floor, and everybody enjoyed the music. The love continued with a special Valentine’s Day dinner, followed by a showing of the romantic movie Three Coins in a Fountain.
Among the partygoers was a couple with a sweet love story. Gerardo and Helga Weinstein met in Lima, Peru, on Helga’s 18th birthday. Their parents thought they would be a good match, and the couple was engaged two weeks later. They both valued each other’s intelligence, travel experiences, attractiveness and kindness. Not to mention, they were both eager to settle down and start a family.
“When two people want to make a happy marriage, you must have the right attitude of honesty and integrity and have the desire to work at it like anything else in life,” said Gerardo. “To prosper and blossom in your relationship through respect, admiration and love for each other is the ultimate goal.”
“I love him because he is very kind to me and has an intelligent mind,” said Helga.
“She is more intelligent than I am. She has a sixth sense,” said Gerardo. “I admire Helga. She is a wonderful human being who cares deeply for her family. She demonstrates integrity and is a courageous person in dealing with the realities of life.”
“There are so many sweet love stories at The Legacy at Willow Bend, whether a couple has been married for 60 years or they met each other two years ago living at The Legacy,” said Lisa Harris, lifestyle and member assistance coordinator of The Legacy at Willow Bend. “Our members have a lot of love for each other as friends as well. I was very pleased that everyone had such a great time at our Valentine’s Day celebration!”
