Flower Mound Chamber of Commerce names new president

The Flower Mound Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors has named Suzanne Sutton to the post of president of the chamber of commerce.
“After an extensive statewide search and hiring process we are pleased to have Suzanne lead our chamber staff,” said Lori Salisbury, 2013 Chairman of the Board. “Suzanne has the work experience, skill set and non-rofit experience that the board identified as valuable to move the chamber to the next level."
“I believe my corporate experience, combined with my nonprofit background has prepared me for the fast-paced atmosphere of the Flower Mound Chamber of Commerce," Sutton said. "I am excited about creating new programs that benefit businesses of all sizes and demonstrate a tangible value to being a member of our local chamber. My goal is to take the chamber to the next level by understanding our current member’s needs, as well as create plans that will attract future members.”
Sutton has spent 24-plus years in Corporate America, having had the privilege of both learning and leading at Mattel Toys, Colgate Palmolive, The Quaker Oats Company and PepsiCo. Leading the National Grocery Customer Marketing effort on the Gatorade business, Sutton led her team in creating unique solutions, designed to address individual retailer business situations. Established as one who solves complex organizational problems, Sutton was called upon repetitively to create cross functional teams to resolve complex organizational issues.
Beyond her experience in four Fortune 100 Corporations, Sutton also served as a sales and marketing consultant to local Dallas area businesses. Sutton is on the Copper Canyon Planning and Zoning Commission, has served as Lay Leader at Trietsch Memorial United Methodist Church for the last seven years, is a motivational speaker, co-facilitates Leadership Training at Trietsch and was lead VBS director for 15 years, serving more than 10,000 children.
Of the over 700 chambers of commerce in Texas, the Flower Mound Chamber of Commerce is one of 20 accredited by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce. The Flower Mound Chamber is currently celebrating its 31st year.
