Rowlett started strong at last week's Russell Athletic North Texas Classic, but came away with a 1-2-1 record when it was all said and done.

The Eagles pounded Denison in the opener in a 12-0 rout. Luke Hamblin struck out four en route to getting the win on the mound and he got plenty of support.

Bobby Casillas had a pair of triples and drove in three, Marshall McKee had two hits and three RBIs an Dalton Atnip added a pair of hits and two runs batted in.

Rowlett came up short in the second game, falling to Lake Highlands, 5-3. Sean Moore had a double and a triple, while Tanner Sonnenberg and Will Norris drove in runs, but it was not enough.

On Saturday, the Eagles played Trophy Club Byron Nelson to a 3-3 tie. Sonnenberg doubled and drove in a run, while Nathan Kalldin added a RBI single.

Texas High scored six runs in the third inning and that proved to be the difference in a 7-3 victory on Saturday. Hamblin had two hits and a RBI, while Moore and Kalldin also drove in runs in the losing effort.

The Rowlett girls split four games at the Allen Tournament last week. The Eagles posted an 8-4 victory over W.T. White and a 7-6 loss to Ursuline on Saturday. The previous day, Rowlett edged John Paul II, 12-11, and dropped a 4-2 decision to Pasadena Rayburn.
