The West Mesquite baseball team had a big victory sandwiched in between a pair of close losses last week at the Bryan Adams Tournament.

The highlight for the Wranglers was a 13-3 victory over Fort Worth Carter Riverside on Friday.

West Mesquite scored five runs in the first inning and put the game away with a six-run fourth.

Klint Black struck out four in four innings of work to earn the victory and he got plenty of support from the offense.

Blake Seaton homered, doubled and drove in two, Alejandro Gonzalez had a triple and two RBIs and Glen Smith had a pair of hits with three runs batted in.

The Wranglers were unable to generate that same offense on Saturday in a 2-0 loss to Sunset. Tyren Wells had a double and Gonzalez, Drake Malcom and David Salazar added hits, but they were unable to turn them into any runs.

In the opener, West Mesquite dropped a 6-3 decision to Seagoville. Gonzalez had a pair of RBIs and Seaton drove in another, but it was not quite enough.
