The first time Dallas Christian defeated Trinity Christian-Cedar Hill, it won the regular season TAPPS 2-4A championship.

A week later, the Chargers won the second meeting to earn the district's tournament title.

On Friday, Dallas Christian defeated TCCH for a third time, and the prize for this victory was the sweetest of the three.

This reward was a shot at a state championship as the Chargers rolled to a 70-55 victory in a TAPPS Class 4A state semifinal game at Mansfield Legacy High School.

Dallas Christian (22-1) will face Houston Westbury Christian for the state crown on Saturday at 2 p.m. at Mansfield Legacy.

As they did in the state quarterfinals against another district foe, Parish Episcopal, the Chargers refused to allow TC-Cedar Hill to reverse its earlier fate.

Dallas Christian scored 20 points in the opening quarter and led 31-22 at halftime. They steadily pulled away from there, opening a 51-33 lead through three quarters and then scored 24 in the fourth.

D'Andre Cannon had 18 points, Cameron Martin scored 17 and Alex Craig added 11 for the Chargers. TC-Cedar Hill's Garrick Williams scored 28 points to lead all scorers.
