Haning named Employee of the Year at LegacyTexas Bank

Growing up in Plano in the '70s and '80s, LaDonna Haning played soccer in the open fields near the corner of Preston and Parker Roads. Today, that busy retail area is symbolic of the growth of Collin County and home to one of the 20 locations of LegacyTexas Bank.
Recently, the local employer honored Haning with its Shelby Distinguished Service Award. Named after LegacyTexas Chairman Pat Shelby, the award recognizes the bank’s employee of the year, an honor received by only seven other employees.
Haning, who grew up in Plano and graduated from Plano East High School, now lives in McKinney and has spent her entire banking career with LegacyTexas.
LegacyTexas Bank CEO George Fisk says that it’s Haning and employees like her who give the bank that personal, hometown quality.
“LaDonna is an outstanding representative of the LegacyTexas family,” said Fisk. She cares deeply about her work and the customers we serve, and she continues to make a difference in the community she grew up in.”
“I’ve lived through the growth of our community and our bank, and I’m so proud to be part of a company committed to giving back,” said Haning. “I’m a people person, and my first job with the bank in 1991 was in customer service. That gave me a first-hand view of what service really means. It’s not only engrained in us as a company culture, it’s something we take a lot of pride in personally.”
Haning, who works today as an executive lending assistant in the LegacyTexas corporate offices at Preston Road and Legacy Drive in Plano, says she always feels right at home.
“My mom still lives just down the street in the home I grew up in. It’s a privilege to have deep roots in a community and to be able to enjoy that as an adult.”
With the encouragement of the bank, Haning is working toward a degree in accounting. She has a daughter, a sophomore at Boyd High School in McKinney.
