11-5A SOFTBALL: Mustangs, Eagles rise to top of standings

The top four teams in 11-5A met on Tuesday in a pair of big match-ups and when the dust settled, Sachse and Rowlett emerged as the early district leaders.
The Mustangs remained the only undefeated team in 11-5A at 4-0 with an 8-1 win over Garland.
Bailey Parker struck out four in five innings as the Owls mananged only three hits in the game.
With second place on the line, Rowlett seized it and moved to 3-1 in district by hammering Naaman Forest in a 14-3 victory.
Erin Kiser picked up the win on the mound and she got plenty of support from her offense.
Grasyn Langley and Brianna Sims each tripled, while Pierson Jones, Rebecca Wells and Madison Field added doubles to pace an 11-hit attack.
The Eagles have a bye on Friday and then will host North Garland on Tuesday.
Sachse will put its unbeaten record on the line when it plays at home against Lakeview on Friday and then on the road at Naaman Forest on Tuesday.
