11-5A GIRLS SOCCER: Eagles down Garland to take over sole possession of first place

Rowlett picked up its biggest victory of the season to date, knocking off Garland on Friday in a 3-1 win to vault to the front of a crowded field atop the 11-5A standings.
The Eagles used a pair of goals from Grayson Byrd and another from Haley Rodriguez to knock off the Owls.
Rowlett improves to 6-1 in district play, moving them a half-game ahead of Garland and Sachse (6-2) and a full game in front of Naaman Forest (5-2).
Another 11-5A clash of powers is on deck for Tuesday when the Mustangs and Eagles meet on Tuesday at 4 p.m. at Homer B. Johnson Stadium.
